An Associated Press survey recently asked the candidates for their take on a ban on meatpackers owning livestock.
Proponents of the ban say allowing meatpackers to own livestock concentrates too much power in the hands of the packers.
Five of the democratic hopefuls said they would support a ban. They were John Kerry, John Edwards, Joseph Lieberman, Dennis Kucinich and Dick Gephardt.
Al Sharpton and Howard Dean did not respond to the survey.
