Marshfield's Linda Lawrence is usually busy working in the meat department at the local Copp's Food Store, but these days you can bet she's got a copy of Time Magazine within her reach.
Her son, PFC James Cokl, is serving as a part of the armed forces in Iraq, and he's featured as part of Time's Person of the Year, The American Soldier.
Cokl wrote his mom an email Sunday night, asking her to pick up a copy, because his picture may be between the covers.
When she found out it was, Lawrence bought every copy in the store.
"I started showing it to everyone who would listen to me," she said.
Cokl is expected to go on a two-week leave in the first week of January, then return to Iraq. He'll head to Germany to finish his tour of duty in May.
