The Foremost Farms facility in Reedsburg caught on fire after a boiler exploded early this morning. Fire officials say the explosion scattered debris around the building and in the streets outside.

The plant is located in a mainly industrial area but the few homes near it were evacuated. The Reedsburg Fire Chief says most of the damage is in the maintenance area, which is in the center of the plant. He says the two injured people were taken to a local hospital.

The Chief says firefighters are also dealing with a small leak from an ammonia tank at the plant. Foremost is a Dairy Cooperative headquartered in Baraboo. The Reedsburg facility produces butter and condensed skim milk.
