Salvation Army Falling Short

Captain Kirk Schuetz says the organization has raised $163,000 of their $285,000 goal. That's 30 to $40,000 behind where they were at the same time last year.

Right now, Schuetz says they are hoping for big help from large, individual donations.

"A company came in and gave us a check for that much and it was a good thing to see," said Schuetz, "a few more of those and we can catch up to where we ought to be."

Schuetz says mail-in donations make up about half of their fundraising dollars. The rest come from the bell ringer buckets.
