After years of living with cancer, 16-year old Brittany Karstedt will be going on the trip of her dreams.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is taking Brittany and her family on an 8 day Disney Cruise to the Caribbean on Friday.
Brittany says, "I heard a lot from the Make-A-Wish saying how much fun it's going to be, what we're gunna do we're gunna go on a butterfly walk, so there's going to be millions of butterflies and then we're going swimming with the dolphins."
Thanks to her nurse's suggestion, the Make-A-Wish Foundation is giving Brittany Karstedt the trip of her dreams.
The teen went through the fight of her life in February, when doctors discovered a tumor on the left side of her brain.
Brittany says, "It took three years to find out what was wrong with me. I went for an MRI and CAT scan and they figured out that I had a mass in my head, they told my mom first."
DeAnn Ziolkowski, Brittany's Mom says, "Its the left part of your brain that controls all your memory and your physical activities."
90% of her tumor was removed. Now, Brittany is recovering well and getting back to being a teen again, but has a lot to be thankful for.
Brittany says, "After going through all this I think it's just a gift from god saying OK here you go, you did all this and your happy now."
DeAnn says, "I just cant thank them enough for sending her on this trip."
Brittany says going through this has helped her see a different outlook in life, and has some advice for anyone going through tough times.
Brittany says, "Don't get stressed out you have to think of the positive things in your life and not the negatives."
We plan to follow up with Brittany and her family when they come back from their Disney Cruise.

I just want to wish Brittany all the best. I just would like to say that you went thru a lot and you are a very strong young lady that will move forward if you believe. My wife also had a brain tumor that was around the same place as yours. She had her brain surgery done at the Marshfield Hospital by Dr. Macay and let me tell you they are the best surgens around and my wife went into surgery on Friday morning at 5:30am and was out by 11:45am in the recovery room and by 1:00 pm she was sitting up wanting to eat a salad. Than in her own room the the next day.(Sat) Up walking on Sunday and home on Monday. They could not believe how fast she recovered. She believed that she could beat this. The Doctor and staff was just wonderful. You had the best now keep believing and move forward. Take care and injoy your life to the fullest. God Bless...My prayers are out to you and your family...Gary
