The Community Planning Council and United Way put together a report that measures the quality of life in Marathon County. The top ten areas in need of improvement include preventing and treating substance abuse, housing, better access to health care, and poverty.
Some of the areas that still need looked at but are improving include access to child care and public transportation.
"It's a very interesting and easy to read report that tells you a lot about what life is like here," Joanne Kelly says of United Way.
The report is available online at www.unitedwaymc.org. Free copies are also available at the United Way office in Wausau.
