A Stanley woman who's accused of hitting and killing a man who was lying on a highway is now charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Prosecutors filed criminal charges against 46-year-old Lori Lynn Young.
Deputies say they arrested Young in connection with the death of 28-year-old Aaron Bourget of Boyd.
They say Bourget stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road near Stanley around 3:30 Sunday morning and was lying in the highway when Young hit him.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.

well the vehical that drove by was probably in the other lane thats why he wasnt hit by them. as far as seeing a car in the dark on the side of the road yes thats pretty easy, but to see someone laying in the road going 55 mph no becouse your attention is on the vehical. does anyone no if this guy was also drunk as ive seen asked here? what was the coroners report?

It doesn't matter drunk or not drunk...whether it's night or day you still have plenty of time to stop and avoid hitting something or someone laying in the road. That's one of the many uses of headlights on a vehicle you have pretty good vision a vehicle drove by beforehand saw him laying there and had no problem avoiding hitting him. The fact is she was drunk and it's her 3rd OWI! Obviously alcohol was the reason for this. People like that need to be locked away for good. He was a good man, married with kids, he had no death wish. My thoughts and prayers are with this man and his family. RIP Aaron.
