A Stanley woman who's accused of hitting and killing a man who was lying on a highway is now charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Prosecutors filed criminal charges against 46-year-old Lori Lynn Young.

Deputies say they arrested Young in connection with the death of 28-year-old Aaron Bourget of Boyd.

They say Bourget stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road near Stanley around 3:30 Sunday morning and was lying in the highway when Young hit him.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Okay okay, enough with the bashing! This man, who I knew very well, was NOT a drunk, he had NO death wish, and there was NO heart attack. Coroner sad he had a heart "condition" which caused him to fall onto the roadway. If this driver was ALERT, she could have seen him. She should have stopped, or at least slowed waaay down, because a car with headlights ON parked in the MIDDLE of the road isnt normal. She should have CAUTIONED. It is six months tomorrow morning, and there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of ppl out there who REALLY miss this man. He was a very hard worker, open with his life, and if you needed to straighten up, Aaron got you on the RIGHT track. To our loving, caring angel: We all LOVE and MISS your happiness! You were one of a kind! Love you!!

well the vehical that drove by was probably in the other lane thats why he wasnt hit by them. as far as seeing a car in the dark on the side of the road yes thats pretty easy, but to see someone laying in the road going 55 mph no becouse your attention is on the vehical. does anyone no if this guy was also drunk as ive seen asked here? what was the coroners report?
