A Boyd man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle while apparently lying in the middle of a highway.

Chippewa County Sheriff's Deputies say 28-year-old Aaron Bourget died early Sunday morning on Highway G near Chippewa Falls.

The department says a passerby saw him lying in the highway around 3:30 am, then traveled a short distance to get better cell reception and call 911.

A vehicle struck Bourget before the passerby could return.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Bourget was arrested for drunk driving.

Keep in mind the news articles maybe incomplete. It is possible he was previously hit by a car that drove off (hit & run).

Let's please remember that this man was someones son, husband and father. The last thing the grieving family needs is to read hurtful posts. Please be respectful.

Any particular reason the 28 year old was lying in the middle of the highway (information not included in the article)? This is just a question...drunk? Ironic if a drunk was hit by a drunk. The next question.... "Who has the greater liability?"
