Police think they may have their man who got away with a bunch of cash and a stolen pick-up truck. Marathon County Sheriff Randy Hoenisch tells NewsChannel Seven that they have identified a person of interest, and are building a pretty good case against him.
No arrests have been made just yet. Police have found the white pick-up truck, which was reported stolen from Wausau yesterday in a wooded area outside of Brokaw. Investigators have asked NewsChannel Seven not to reveal the exact location of where they have been searching for evidence in the case.
All this excitement began around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon when the Brokaw Credit Union was robbed.
"He was the only one who came into the bank at that time, no one else was there and basically surprised the tellers as they turned around," says Lieutenant Doug Lang of the Marathon County Sheriff's Department. "He was there with the weapon and demanded the money."
No word on what that weapon was or how much money the guy got away with. Nobody was hurt, and no customers were in the bank when it was robbed. Sheriff Hoenisch says there is no need for residents to worry about anything. As we learn more about this situation, we'll pass it along to you.
