Flying enthusiasts are soaring to Oshkosh for the annual e-a-a air venture show.
And airports in our area are seeing a boost thanks to the aviation celebration.
Rob Fors, Assistant Manager at the Merrill Municipal Airport says they usually see about a 5 percent increase in air traffic during EAA.
He says they cleared both their runways to accommodate the additional planes.
Two World War II observation planes made a pit-stop there this weekend.
He says pilots from all over the world have stopped in Merrill before heading to Oshkosh.
"Last week we had a couple of Canadians coming down they figured this was a good mid-way point for them to stop on their way to Oshkosh and they stopped for a rest stop."
More than a half a million people are expected to attend EAA Air venture which runs now.. until August 2nd.
