A 22-year-old man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Northwestern Vilas County Monday.

The Vilas County Sheriff's Department says it happened on County Highway B in the Town of Presque Isle. That's just south of the U.P. Border.

An early investigation shows Nickolas Dunbar of Presque Isle was traveling east on County B near Stateline Road when he left the roadway and struck a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Department says speed is a likely factor in the crash. It remains under investigation.
