Avid skiers will be strapping on their boots and heading for Granite Peak Saturday for the ski hill's opening day.
Six of the 72 runs will be open Saturday, giving skiers their earliest opportunity ever to ski at granite peak.
Operations manager Vicki Baumann says it's not a moment to soon.
"We're getting a lot of phone calls this past week," said Vicki Baumann, operations manager. "A lot of people are very excited and they're ready to ski, ready to snowboard, so we're gonna provide some good runs for them."
The cold temperatures have allowed the ski hill to make snow and open early the typical opening date is Thanksgiving weekend.
