There are new security measures in place at North Central Health Care in Wausau.
The director of the behavioral unit says the changes come after a teen escaped two times on Tuesday.
Toni Simonson says the patient ran past a staff member as they walked through a set of locked doors.
Now, she says every staff member will be required to place a call inside the unit to ensure the surrounding area is clear of patients...
before the doors are opened.
Simonson says Wausau police assisted staff members which is part of their security plan.
Staff members say in both cases, the teen was located within minutes and a short distance from their building.
