Thirty-seven-year-old Kevin J. Zarm of Wausau has been charged with 15 criminal counts. He was arrested Tuesday evening after investigators recovered firearms stolen from three of the arson scenes.

There have been 20 suspicious fires in the Wausau area since May 28th. Zarm is charged with four of those fires as felony counts. Another four are counts of burglary, in some cases with a dangerous weapon. Other charges include reckless endangerment and theft of moveable property.

""These arrests bring to us a beginning the fruits of months of investigation regarding arsons in Wausau, Schofield, and town of Texas, I say beginning because the investigation continues,"" says police cheif William Brandimore.

Zarm is scheduled to be back in court for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 20, when he could enter a plea to the charges. Right now he is being held in Marathon County Jail on a million dollar cash bond.

The investigation continues and police are asking that if anyone has been in contact in anyway with Zarm over the last several months, you are to call their special phone number at (715)261-7954.
