The Asian Lady Beetle migrated to Wisconsin in the early 90's. They originated from southeast Asia and are thought of as beneficial to agricultural areas, however they are a pest in and around your home.

But before you squash them, think again.

"You don't want to squash them especially in your home because in your home it's gonna stain whatever you do," says The Handy Lady.

To get rid of them, one suggestion is using a vacuum cleaner to suck them out. Just make sure you avoid using one with a beater brush, that will smash their yellowish tint into your carpet or floors.

Insect spray will rid the ladybugs as well. The Handy Lady suggests using either Malathion or Diazinon. These are concentrated chemicals that you can dilute and spray in your home. Make sure you read the instructions.

And one more thing, these little creatures may be nice to look at, but don't pick them up, they do bite.
