TOWN OF FARMINGTON, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say a 12-year-old southeastern Wisconsin boy suffered a head injury when he was hit by one of the fireworks being discharged at a home during a Fourth of July party.

Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath said the call came in just after 10 p.m. on Saturday. He says the incident happened during a gathering at a home in the Town Of Farmington, which is located about 45 miles west of Milwaukee.

Milbrath says the boy was airlifted to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.
