The Fourth of July is a holiday celebrating our nation's independence and freedom.
But to different people, the red white and blue can have different meanings.
And for many people, the Fourth of July means the celebration of our country's most fundamental element.
"It's independence for our country, our freedom, and being able to do things, that we want to do, that most countries in the world doesn't really have,” said Doris Madden of Merrill.
“We're very fortunate to live in the great United States of America," said Madden.
Others agreed.
"America is one of the freest countries that there is," said Audrey Bailey of Marshfield.
