EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (AP) -- A man suspected of killing his wife in Rockford, Ill. has been arrested in northern Wisconsin.
Vilas County sheriff's deputies say the 65-year-old fugitive was taken into custody in the town of Boulder Junction about 3 p.m. Wednesday after they received word from Rockford, Ill. authorities that the suspect could be in the area.
Rockford Deputy Police Chief Greg Lindmark identifies the suspect as Thomas McFeggan, whose car was found at the Trout Lake Campground. McFeggan was arrested at a nearby boat ramp.
Lindmark says McFeggan had a handgun and faces possible weapons charges in Wisconsin before he can be extradited to Illinois.
Sixty-two-year-old Carol McFeggan was found fatally shot in her home by her daughter on Monday.
