Members of the Wisconsin Rapids community gathered together to break ground for the larger Family Center. It will assist families in need during domestic violence situations.
The new center will have expanded space, handicap access and more room for staff members. A local foundation Mead-Witter donated one million dollars to the new center, and stands as a marking point for their fundraiser.
Their goal is to raise $2.5 million by the time the center opens May, 2004.
