Art enthusiasts are taking home more than just paintings after spending a day at the Art Village in Stevens Point. The art gallery and studio celebrated their fourth anniversary Saturday with free art projects and demonstrations for the community.
Art Village is a studio in downtown Stevens Point where people can come in to learn and create pieces of art. The studio teaches classes in pottery, painting, and still photography for those eager to learn, but if you're just feeling creative and what do something on your own they've that covered as well.
The studio has an assortment of pre-made sculptures which can be purchased and then painted to give the customer a one of a kind souvenir. Organizers say Art Village is a great way for first time artists to find their creative side and learn something new.
Art Village also displays different pieces from local artists, and organizers tell me everything is for sale.
As a special project for the event the studio held a community art project where individuals painted small tiles which will then be combined into a much larger community mosaic.
