Authorities say everyone is safe following a vehicle fire in Rib Mountain Friday night.
A Rib Mountain Fire Department captain says the owner of a 2003 pickup truck was on his way back from Minocqua around 6:30 p.m. Friday when the truck started running “funny.”
That’s when the owner exited the interstate and pulled off to the side of the road. Shortly after everyone was out of the truck it started on fire. Thankfully no one was hurt.
At this time firefighters believe the fire started in the engine cavity.
The Rib Mountain Fire Department says they encounter about 6-8 vehicle fires every year.
