While people waited for a chance to meet with recruiters from WPS, job seekers filled out applications and passed out resumes at Job Fair 2003. Experts say both events play a significant role in boosting the local economy.
"When folks are unemployed these job fairs provide an opportunity to get that connection and once they get hired and get on the payroll it boosts our economy," says Ray Rogers, employment training specialist.
So what jobs are out there? There is a wide range of opportunities in the medical field as well as manufacturing jobs, but no matter where you look, employers say the skills are universal. At the top of the list is a strong work ethic.
The WPS job fair continues Thursday starting at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. at the Westwood Conference Center.
