Sheriff David Clarke allowed lawyers to bypass the detectors and their lines starting yesterday if they show their State Bar of Wisconsin membership cards.

Clarke says there are people in certain positions that they can trust.

Doctors and social workers who have regular business in the courthouse can buy for five dollars a county ID card that will also allow them to skip the security lines.

The change for attorneys had been sought by 74-year-old Milwaukee lawyer Peter Flessas.

Flessas says he became angry about the wait at the Milwaukee courthouse when he breezed through a California courthouse simply by showing his Wisconsin Bar ID card.
