The Adams County Health Department says there is a confirmed case of swine flu, or the H1N1 virus in the Adams-Friendship Area School. The Health Department says schools will remain open.
The Health Department says eventhough the virus is widespread in Wisconsin, there are things you can do to stop it from spreading. They recommend staying home if you're feeling ill, washing your hands often, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
There are currently more than 1,000 confirmed cases of H1N1 in Wisconsin.
Health officials say most people who come down with the virus experience mild symptoms. They say if you are feeling severe symptoms, you should contact your doctor by phone before going in for medical care, so others are not exposed.
