The Chief of the Athens Fire Department says the owner of a former supper club in the Town of Johnson is now facing a bill expected to top $5,000 dollars.
The woman, who NewsChannel 7 is not naming, because she hasn't been charged, admitted to setting the building on fire.
Chief Ronald Lavicka says nearly two dozen firefighters were called to the scene just before 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
He says the owner not only put the fire fighter's lives at risk, she also took a little bit of money out of their paychecks.
Lavicka say because it's a volunteer fire department, many of the men were forced to leave their paying jobs for several hours.
The Marathon County Sheriff's Department says because there was no financial motive behind the blaze, there was no crime.
The estimated bill does not include any fines the owner may receive from the DNR or other departments.

Regardless if there is a financial motive or not, innocent people could have been severly hurt (the firefighters and/or the neighbors). What the heck was this woman thinking? - obviously she wasn't. She should be charged with arson! Thank God none of the firefighters or anyone else were hurt. Thank you Athens Fire Dept for risking your lives to keep others safe.
