The Vilas County Sheriff's Department says about 120 acres of land burned Tuesday in a brush fire in the Town of Conover.
At about 3 p.m., dispatchers received a 911 call of a grass fire on Deerpath Road.
When crews arrived, they found high winds pushed the grass fire into the woods, and called for extra assistance.
Traffic was blocked off on several roads, and some people were evacuated from their homes.
No homes were damaged and no one was hurt.
Crews were able to get the fire under control at about 6 p.m.
