She's been described as "a normal cow", but that may be a bit of an understatement. When Lucy was first born her owner, Mark Krombholtz noticed something strange about her nose.
"She had a red nose, and I thought maybe she got kicked in the face. I looked closer and there were two noses. One on top of each other."
For the next two years Lucy was in the spot light, going to fairs and posing for pictures. Now that she's a little older this special cow is finally settling down. In fact, she's now starting a family of her own.
Lucy has now come full circle. Almost two years to the day after she was born she gave birth to her first calf, and Krombholtz says, "she's a good mom."
When the farmers first found out Lucy was pregnant there was quite a bit of speculation on whether her calf would be special as well. Family members as well as coworkers and friends were all wondering what oddity the calf would have. As it turns out she gave birth to a perfectly healthy and normal baby boy. He may not have two noses, but Lucy loves him all the same and she's taking her new role as a mother very seriously.
Lucy's calf has yet to be named, and there's a good reason. Lucy's owner is hoping to have all of you at home submit ideas for a suitable name. The only rule he has is that the name start with an "L". If you would like to share your idea for a name for the calf please post a comment at the bottom of this story.

Congratulations Mark, Mary & family especially to Lucy!!!! I think he should be named Lucky for 2 reasons. #1. As others said he is lucky to have such a special mom and #2. Lucky is Lucy with the extra letter 'k'. Will Lucy and her calf be at the fair this year? Cant wait to see them!!!
We're going with LUCKY. He's a lucky lil fella to have a special mom like Lucy.
