Authorities in Waupaca County have arrested four men in connection with a burglary that had all the makings of a giant tailgate party.
Deputies say the four were connected to last month's theft at the Dupont Cheese Factory in Marion.
The burglars made off with nearly 350 pounds of meat, more than 100 pounds of cheese and a dozen cases of beer.
Authorities say a tip led them to the arrests.
The four men range in age from 18 to 44 and are from Waupaca and Iola in central Wisconsin. Charges have not been filed.
The factory owner says none of the suspects were ever employed there.
Among the items taken were 80 pounds of garlic sausage, 80 pounds of summer sausage, 80 pounds of beef sausage, 60 pounds of snack sausage, 30 pounds of bacon and 15 pounds of smoked beef.
Also stolen were 48 jars of herring, 70 pounds of string cheese and a 40-pound block of cheese carved into the shape of a wedding bell.
