Funeral services for 18-year-old Breanna Schneller are set for Friday.
She's the D.C. Everest High School senior found dead inside her apartment at about 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Her death is currently being investigated as a homicidal assault.
The lead counselor says his office helped students and teachers throughout the day who are devastated by the news.
Five counselors will be on hand this week to make sure mental health services are available through the grieving process.
He says counselors have been controlling rumors and questions raised by students throughout the day.
"Initially this morning we had some very distraught students who were very close, and we helped them dealing with the immediate needs as the day went on," said lead counselor Jack Volovsek of D.C. Everest High School.
The students plan to create a wrist band in memory of Breanna, to raise enough money to purchase a plaque in her honor.
Funeral services will be held in Wausau at 1 p.m. this Friday.
Her friends still plan to hold a public memorial service for her this Thursday. We do not know where or at what time it will be held yet.
