Abbotsford is known as Wisconsin’s first city, at least alphabetically, but it’s better known for its family favorite Christmas Parade. Its one of the first created in the state itself.
The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce is working with a number of volunteers to make sure the 42nd Christmas Parade goes on without a hitch. Almost half a century ago, it all started with an idea and a little Christmas cheer.
Jenny Jakel, Treasurer for the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce told us, “42 years ago a couple of business men on Abby’s main street decided they needed to do something for Christmas. So it started right then and there.”
The Abbotsford parade is set to start at 7:30 tomorrow night, but families should get there a little earlier for the clowns who’ll entertain the crowd until the parade starts.
