Wausau firefighters just wrapped up a four-day fundraising drive to help a local emergency worker and those affected by the wildfires in California.
Since Thursday, firefighters have been manning booths with boots for the public to put donations in.
A large part of the proceeds will go to Matthew Deicher, the emergency worker who was hurt in the ambulance accident on Highway 51 last July.
"Donations have been flowing in pretty study and people are pretty giving in this community and I'm sure that'll go a long way to help," said emergency worker Paul Czarapata.
Deicher is currently in Colorado, recovering from his injuries.
