There's new information on a story we first brought you Friday night. Firefighters worked into the night battling a blaze at the Auburndale tire recycling facility.
The fire started late last night, but crews put it out shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday morning. That same location had a much larger fire in 2000.
As a result of that fire, the plant was redesigned to make it easier for firefighters to get in and out.
"The plant was not involved, no buildings were involved," said Auburndale Fire Chief John Spatz. "It was just a pile of chopped tires and it was probably caused by the spontaneous combustion, by the heating of the tire pile.
Luckily no one was hurt in the fire.
