State's Largest Business Group Targets Lawmakers in Radio Ads

Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce is airing radio ads statewide.

It also tailored three ads to run in the districts of Democratic Senators Roger Breske of Eland, Dave Hansen of Green Bay and Robert Wirch of Kenosha.

Supporters of the property tax limits say the Democrats' votes could be key in determining whether the Senate is able to override Governor Doyle's veto. Republicans control the Senate and would need four Democrats to join them for the 22 votes necessary to override the veto.

One Senate Democrat has already said he plans to vote for the override while a second says he's leaning that way.

The ads tailored to target the three lawmakers say the Senate is close to overriding the veto but say each of the three could cast the deciding vote.
