MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Tours of the Wisconsin governor's mansion are set to resume next month.
Free tours of Wisconsin's Executive Residence are offered every year from April to August.
The 30-minute tours will be conducted Thursday afternoons starting April 2. They cover the first floor of the two-story building, which sits on more than 4 acres in the Village of Maple Bluff just outside Madison.
Highlights include artwork by Wisconsin artists and official gifts to the state from around the world.
Also popular are the six gardens overlooking Lake Mendota.
Gov. Jim Doyle is the 13th governor to live in the 34-room mansion.
Visitors are encouraged to bring new or used books for donation to youth literacy organizations.
