The Third District court says the lawsuit filed by Greg LaFond is deficient in several ways. For one thing, the appeals court says it never clearly specified what words were defamatory.
LaFond sued two city county members he says were involved in a conspiracy to remove him from his job.
His lawsuit accused the defendants of conspiracy, defamation, inflicting emotional distress and illegal interference with his employment contract.
The ruling upholds Judge William Gabler's decision to dismiss LaFond's 52-page complaint.
