Police say they've found the people responsible for a costly case of vandalism at a Wausau cemetery. Vandals destroyed nearly 200 headstones and monuments at Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau on October 9.
After reward money was offered, someone came forward with information that linked two 13-year-old boys to the crime.
Officers say they confronted them and they confessed.
"You feel a sense of accomplishment. You feel you owe the community all your effort to find the people responsible and when you do, you obviously feel much better about your job."
Most of the damage has been repaired, but cemetery workers say some of the older headstones can't be fixed. The cost of the vandalism is estimated at about $200,000. The kids have been referred to social services.
