An ordinance in the Village exists, basically saying property owners are required to keep all vehicles on all-weather surfaces. Officials say the properties are junked up if there are vehicles sitting on the lawn.
The village is currently not allowed to fine violators of the ordinance, but hopes that will change in the fall.
Currently, the village is using a community clean-up plan, one that responds to complaints of residents. Most of the time, officials say, residents cooperate if they are in violation.
