The Vilas County Sheriff's Department is investigating a crash that sent 72-year-old John Gamoletto to the hospital Tuesday.
Authorites say it happened about 3 p.m. on County Highway K, just east of County Highway P in the town of Boulder Junction.
A preliminary investigation shows the Sugar Grove, IL man was traveling west on K when his truck lost control on an icy curve. He crossed the eastbound lane and struck a tree head-on.
His condition is unknown.
