Nursing Home Allegations

The state is reviewing a local nursing home after one of the nurses working there said there was abuse at the facility. A nurse at Mount View Care Center in Wausau is accused of spraying saline solution in a resident's face.

North Central Health Care operates mount view. Their chief executive officer says the nurse has admitted to the incident. However, Mount View's review concluded it was not abuse.

"The intent was not at all malicious, or intent to cause any harm to the resident," Tim Steller, CEO North Central Health Care, "and we made a judgment that that was the case and there was therefore not any findings of abuse."

But the state determined the findings from that report were not turned in on time, risking further harm to other residents. Mount View is disputing that ruling and is waiting on a final decision from the state to find out if any fines will be issued.
