A rummage sale in Wausau benefiting mentally ill and chemically dependant veterans is wrapped up Saturday night. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to benefit the Randlin Home for Veterans.
A memorial was set up at the event to raise money for the child of Wausau's Rebecka Braenne, whose body was found in east St. Louis earlier this month. Braenne had lived in the Randlin Home and later spent time volunteering at the shelter.
"She was a staff member for a period of time and then was a volunteer," said Linda Larson-Schlitz, Randlin Home, "(she) would have been here and would have made all our signs, but we don't have as many signs up, because Becky's not with us."
Police in Illinois are investigating the Braenne case as a homicide.
