Army Reservist Sergeant First Class Dan Henry Gabrielson was killed July ninth when his convoy came under attack north of Baghdad.
His funeral is being held this morning at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner.
Gabrielson is to be buried at Northern Wisconsin Veteran Cemetery nearby.
The 40-year-old rural Frederic reservist was a member of the Ellsworth-based 652nd Engineer Company.
Gabrielson was a husband and father of three children, ages 13, 17 and 20.
He's the third soldier from Wisconsin to die in military operations in Iraq. Army Major Mathew Schram of Brookfield and Marine Sergeant Kirk Straseskie of Beaver Dam died in May.
