Sun Outages

The snowy reception or pixilated images are the result of the sun's energy over powering satellite transmissions to Earth.

It's a situation that occurs during the Spring and Fall Equinoxes, but despite the possible problems, Charter says they have had few complaints from customers.

"We don't receive a whole lot of calls," said Charter Communications spokesperson Jessie Hlad, "We do have a public service announcement going to educate the customers on the effects of sun outages. So, I think they're quite aware of them."

Charter says the sun outages will continue through the weekend, ending on Monday.
