Doyle was in town discussing the state's youth apprenticeship program. He says the legislature needs to provide more funding for the program that was almost eliminated last year.
"I am challenging the legislature to pass my "grow Wisconsin" proposal to provide an additional $1.5 million for youth apprenticeship programs," Doyle said.
Because of the budget cuts, fewer students are participating in the program. Doyle said the extra money could come from money his administration is saving. The effort is part of his "Grow Wisconsin" plan, geared towards getting the economy up and running again.
