Soldier From Wisconsin Unit Dies in Iraq

The Department of Defense says 36-year-old Captain Paul Cassidy of Laingburg, Michigan died of as a result of non-combat injuries.

Cassidy died Sunday in Camp Babylon, Iraq.

He was assigned to the 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion in Ashwaubenon.

It was Cassidy's fourth trip in 12 years to a global hot spot as part of the Army Reserves humanitarian services.

His role in Iraq was similar to previous duties in Kosovo, Bosnia and Kuwait. Cassidy distributed food and blankets. He worked to repair houses, provide water and re-establish farms.
