ELLSWORTH, Wis. (AP) -- Pierce County authorities are seeking a man accused of stealing an engagement ring, laptop computer, credit cards and money from a woman he said he would marry on New Year's Eve, only to fly to Hawaii at her expense and marry someone else.
A criminal complaint accuses 40-year-old Raymond Jackson of theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
The 39-year-old town of Diamond Bluff woman told police she met him in September and he later moved in with her.
After he left just before Christmas, saying he had a job interview in South Dakota, she noticed things missing and learned her credit card paid for an $800 one-way ticket to Hawaii.
Reports indicate he married a woman from Russia and used the Wisconsin woman's credit card to pay for a hotel, flowers and other expenses.
The victim had an estimated $7,600 taken.
