Investigators with the Marathon County Sheriff's Department say the death of an Athens man was an accident.
25 year old Kyle Suske died just before 7 Wednesday night while snowboarding on Granite Peak in Rib Mountain.
Investigators say he was wearing a helmet... and preliminary autopsy results show he died from blunt force trauma to the chest.
Detective Ryan Weber says Suske was found near the moguls at the bottom of Sundance Run.
"It appears he got into some moguls and fell. He was found by his friend shortly there after and transported to Wausau Hospital and pronounced dead."
Detective Weber says family members tell him Suske had been snowboarding for more than 10 years.
Granite peak released a statement saying "This is a very tragic incident. The entire staff at Granite Peak is saddened and our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family and friends."
