If you are one of the millions of Americans out of work that will be looking for a job in 2009 and just don’t know where to start, there is one place in your community you can turn to for a little help.
Libraries offer a wealth of information, including some on job opportunities.
Many reference desk librarians are ready and willing to guide job seekers in the right direction – like where to look for jobs and where to find local listings.
The Marathon County Library even offers career hunters a little extra help.
“With resumes, there are computer classes here that are offered that can get you set up on how to set up a resume properly and get it in the format businesses are looking for,” said Mike Hartkoph, the customer service manager at the Marathon County Library.
To take advantage of the help libraries offer, all you need is a library card, which is free. Most libraries only ask that you bring a photo id and proof of your current address to access their resources.
