Outdoor enthusiasts certainly enjoyed this weekend. People with patience, poles and ice picks are covering frozen lakes and rivers all over our area.
We caught many ice fishermen out on Lake Wausau today, where the season is now in full-swing. Many have their ice shanties up, and we caught up with one father and son getting ready for the day, drilling out a hole to begin fishing.
"Pretty decent, we've been catching some big wall-eyes out there and some Northerns are biting pretty good, but overall it's been pretty good," said ice fisherman Andrew Pospychala.
He says every year the number of ice shacks they see on the lakes goes up, which is a good sign that the sport is increasing.
