A Wausau manufacturing plant could have suffered serious damages, if not for the sprinkler system. By the time Wausau firefighters arrived to the Fiskars plant on Stewart Avenue last night (8/12), the sprinklers were taking care of a fire caused by an overheated compressor.
Wausau Fire Captain Tom Leslie says, "The first company that got here saw smoke showing from different parts of the building, different openings so, they went in and one sprinkler head was going off."
No one was working at the plant at the time of the fire and Captain Leslie says other than some water and smoke damage, the company doesn't have much loss from the fire.
