Local Shoppers Using the Internet on Cyber Monday
With the amount of online holiday shopping on the rise, many stores are offering online deals for customers. But that might mean that Cyber Monday may take over for Black Friday.

Many people have a lot of their shopping done after Black Friday, but there are also quite a few people getting holiday shopping done online on "Cyber Monday".
According to a National Retail Federation survey, more than 80% of online retailers had special promotions on Monday, and local businesses are also seeing the rush.
Gayle Coolick, the Vice President of Investor Relations at Charming Shoppes, Inc. says, "At Figi's, Cyber Monday is very important to us, it is the kickoff day for a very critical two weeks for us."
And that's why she says shoppers on Figi's website were offered free gifts on Cyber Monday; it's part of an effort to keep customers coming back during the busiest time for online shopping of the year.
She adds, "A lot of our E-customers are looking for something that differentiates the retailer, and we think these things are strong promotions."
But large stores like Figi's aren't the only ones appealing to internet shoppers, as smaller stores in the area are also taking notice.
Wausau's Evolutions in Design began selling their products online just more than a year ago, and they say they've seen the results, especially during the holidays.
Lisa Macco, their co-owner says, "We see the most use during holiday season, Thanksgiving centerpieces, Mother's Day was huge online ordering for us, and then obviously it'll come out close as Christmas approaches."
And as stores large and small continue to grow, they're both seeing that Cyber Monday could soon become the busiest shopping day of the year.
Coolick adds, "I think that for a generation of folks, it's the way to shop, as opposed to a changing way to shop."
Statistics also show the number of people who do their holiday shopping online at work is on the rise.
